From the Super Saint-Bernard ski lifts, no longer in use, follow the road towards the Great Saint Bernard col per 300 m, then turn right at Maringo. Cross the Dranse d’Entremont river and start climbing the slope that gives access to the Drône Coombe.
At an elevation of 2400m, keep going towards a large slope, slightly to your left, that gains access to a plateau. Keep going in the less steep bowl, aiming at the foot of the W ridge of the Pointe de Drône. Having reached the ridge, follow the line of the north one towards the summit. Pay attention, your pace will have to be fully steady! You will carry on skis on backpack on this last rocky section. Keep a watchful eye on the cornices, which may abound, according to snowfall.
You may carry out the descent along the steep north face of the Pointe du Drône only if the snowpack is compact, or retracing your steps on the ridge after the summit. In the latter case, it is highly recommended that you leave the skis at the beginning of the ridge before embarking on the last part of the ascent that leads to the top.
