From the Aosta Est motorway exit, take the tunnel that leads to the Great Saint Bernard valley. Carry on driving past the hamlets of Gignod, Etroubles and Saint-Oyen.
Leave the road climbing up to the Great Saint Bernard Pass to the right and keep going on the state road E27 until you find the exit for the Crévacol ski area, on the right.
Keep going for about 500m until you reach the vast car park. Leave the car in its westernmost side.

Once you are in Crévacol, take the first chairlift as far as Arp du Jeux and the second one, leading to the Basse Tête snowy hill, not far from the ski touring bivouac.
The descent
Once off the chairlift, go down the Piccolo Alpino ski slope (nr 5), skirting the Basse Tête. After an initial, slightly flat stretch, the slope turns right; you’ll see an initial steep face, after which you’ll turn left and start going down the vast, wide slope. When you reach a larch tree fores, go through it and then finish off the descent along the Great Saint Bernard route. (You may call the ski-bus to go back to Crévacol, if necessary)
